Well then, just like the rest of them who blather on about '"hard working people" whilst busily stuffing them "because it's the right thing to do!" Politicians are all only interested in their own self interest and ideology, insane or otherwise but it's always self interested.

I think that description could apply more to the Tories.

Unfortunately, Identity politics seems as deeply ingrained in the Tory Party as it is in Labour. At least with the Tories you know they hate ordinary people. The Labour Party pretends to support them while betraying them at every opportunity.

Hi

I agree wholeheartedly.

Politics in the UK seem to be based on slagging off the other party rather than concentrating on the problems that the country faces.

Some of the best run and most successful countries have the ability for the political parties to work together on the big problems in the best interest of the general population, something which is sadly lacking here.

True. You only have to look at threads on this forum to see the reason. Although reason doesn't really come into it. It's partisan politics. My party is always right, yours is always wrong. Generally known as team spirit - competition in operation.

A little common sense and cooperation would be more useful.

Re: The Lunatic Left

You would think that appeasing the masses is the name of the game at the end of the day so why alienate huge sections of it? Why doesn't a party give the vast majority of the people what they want, or at least pay some lip service to it? What is being done to the disabled and vulnerable in our society is upsetting people from all walks of life - along with the NHS - immigration etc. I should think a government that wants to stay in for a very long period needs to be highly flexible thereby able to adapt to social / economic change instead of rigidly adhering to some sort of political ideology.

Re: The Lunatic Left

If you nick bits and pieces of the other party's manifestos then you will become the party for all thereby disarming all your political opponents .
