I note your reluctance to answer the question I posed in my previous thread - I deduce from this that it is too uncomfortable to admit that the scumbag 'nasty party' have deliberately impoverished the vast majority of us whilst feather-bedding their friends and funders. What they are doing and you by your reticense to speak out against it are allowing these scum to get away with it!!!

Re: The Budget

Can someone please tell my why every budget is out to help those who want to borrow and stick their fingers up at those who save.
This time out to help first time home owners . If it wasn't for the savers there would be no money to lend.

Re: The Budget

Well I'm trying to work out what to do with my extra 33p an hour, odd amount I thought why not 30 or 40p ? Still it's better than nothing.

I was talking to Nate about the stamp duty he couldn't stop laughing if they think it will help young get houses they obviously haven't looked at deposits or prices of houses.

Btw genuine question do the tories actually have a housing policy ? I can't for life of me work out why they are trying to put up prices of houses even further, when according to many they are over 50 percent over valued already !

I agree with every word you say there Speed.
It is a real struggle to get even 1% interest on Isas or anything in savings at all nowadays.
Meanwhile in this budget he is pandering to the youth with these policies, including the new Rail Card for the Snowflake Generation. They kicked him in the nuts in the General Election after Corbyn Momentum lot promised the little darlings the earth.
The elderly kicked him in the nuts over the Dementia Tax and Winter Fuel Allowance and they soon dropped those ideas.!
No wonder they almost lost the General Election as all generations rained on his parade!

Well, that's better than a poke in the eye .....

Earn more before you are taxed

The amount earned before income tax is paid - called the personal allowance - will rise from £11,500 to £11,850 in April. This will cut less than £100 a year off a basic rate taxpayer's annual bill.

So I could be a fiver a week better off .....
The government have promised that the personal allowance will rise to £12500 by 2020/2021 unless of course they have a let out somewhere

Re: The Budget

The government has not addressed the massive £billions of Foreign aid, much of it mismanaged, and given with outstretched hands to the wrong people who must think it is Christmas every week.

They completely ignore public opinion in this respect.

While the budget is good for the economy the small increases will be eaten up by the high cost of living.

And the poor always remain poorer, who ever is in power.

I am not a Labour supporter or a Communist.

Re: The Budget

Under legislation approved in 2015, the UK government is legally required to spend 0.7% of gross national income (GNI) on overseas development assistance (ODA), popularly known as foreign aid. In 2015, that translated to a total spend of £12.1bn, according to the Department for International Development.20 Apr 2017

because for house prices to fall now would mean that anyone who bought a buy to let won't be able to pay off their mortgage. The whole caboodle is based on house prices rises ad infinitum.
