Re: Two for the price of one???

It would not surprise me to learn, if it is ever revealed, that these accusations are deliberately levelled to undermine the people responsible for Brexit. It is too much of a coincidence that these attacks come at a critical time for negotiations. Its curious how Blair, Mandelson and Clegg have gone quiet after their little trip to Europe. Who would trust that little trio. I think that together threats from Ireland about the Irish Borders and the entrenched views from Europe there is a concerted effort to sabotage the negotiations and let the UK shoulder the blame.

Hi

I do not go along with conspiracy theories.

Blair and Mandelson I loathe.

To my mind the people who have messed up Brexit are the idiots in charge, Boris in particular, closely followed by Liam Fox.

They have delivered nothing, just empty promises.

After six months of negotiating they have given in.

It is difficult to do anything with one hand tied behind your back, as this government is, with no majority. I appreciate it is their own fault for calling the election but I can also appreciate why the election was called, the tiny majority she had may not have been enough to drive what Mrs May and we all wanted wanted through. It was a gamble.

Now it is even more difficult and trying to satisfy all those self interests in Labour, the DUP, the Remainers who haven't gone away and would sabotage it in an instant plus the downright dirty tricks brigade, it must be a nightmare. Add to that an EU which is totally intransigent and they have some real problems

It is not a conspiracy theory but a description of life and the way people look after their own interests. Having said that there is plenty of evidence out there which shows people are still actively working to prevent Brexit. There will always those who are not going to be satisfied but if you've ever done any serious negotiating you will know it is not easy and you don't always get what you want. In the end you can always say no.

You may not like it, neither do I, but I believe they are doing the best they are allowed to do. In the end Parliament will decide, if they don't like it we will leave without a deal. Personally I would be happy to do that now.

This , I agree with completely. The political propaganda that circulates Face Book with wild accusations about this Government is appalling. Momentum seem to be at the heart of it. Seems to me that if they aren't able to get results from one form of attack, they will try another. As you say, Blair, Mandelson and Clegg have gone very quiet, although Clegg was on his way to a meeting with Barnier only a few short weeks ago. Filmed ,asked about and confirmed in his own words and televised by BBC. 'Just going to have a meeting with M Barnier' he said. !

Re: Two for the price of one???

Hi

The issue here is very simple.

If you think something is wrong you whistle blow at the time, not later.

It is completely, utterly and totally wrong to remove any evidence.

I have one PACE Book in my possession, with full permission.

It relates to two ongoing cases and I need to log things in it for the chain of evidence.

Any thing other than this is absolutely wrong.

The officer concerned should, in my opinion, be prosecuted.

AND??? Did, in your opinion, the scumbag 'nasty party' Minister Damian Green have pornographic images on his personal laptop or not??? If he did and if he alone was responsible for such images, should he or should he not resign???

The fact that the Police Officer who has leaked this information hasn't been prosecuted perhaps speaks volumes. Were the CPS to do so, what evidence would come to light in open court for his defence???

Hi

He has not as yet been prosecuted.

Viewing legal pornography is not a criminal offence.

It is a Civil Matter relating to codes of conduct, nothing more, nothing less.

It is not a matter for the CPS.

Removing evidence and retaining it is a Criminal Offence.

There are two ways of dealing with it.

One is a Criminal Prosecution.

The other, far more effective solution, is an Internal Disciplinary.

Any of my staff doing so would have been dismissed without any Pension, it would have been stripped.

We simply cannot have a system whereby Enforcement Officers, of any variety, remove evidence.

It works both ways UJ, the Rotherham Cover up is an example.

If you need to view Porn as part of your job, and many do, there are stand alone computers in the office, two Passwords, the Boss and the Officer and each and every visit is logged.

That is how we trace the rape gangs and kiddy fiddlers and people traffickers.

A very different scenario to an idiot viewing Porn in works time, that is simply an Internal Disciplinary.

I will repeat, I have one PACE Book, fully authorised, because I need it.

The others are signed out and in when used, when you leave or retire, there is a process to be followed.

In this instance it was not, and that is wrong.

Yet again we are having trial by media and the thread starter is indulging in his daily dose of spite ..
Quite right Meg.loads of speculation. Also i do wonder if money may also have been involved in this revelation by an disgruntled Ex policeman
