I would think that if the U.K and the U.S. got together they could cause havoc in that evil place.
That's just it - it isn't a "place". There's no way you can raid it because it has no physical presence other than some computer hardware that hosts the server. If a website is shut down or if the server IS miraculously traced and confiscated it can pop back up at a moment's notice anywhere in the world from another server.

Tachyon, You sound like you know very much more than I do. Are you saying that it would be impossible to infect those servers with a deadly virus ?

That's the sort of things that happens in movies. Like everyone else, Internet bad guys use firewalls and antivirus just like the average user. The server could be hosted in any country in the world and routed through dozens of proxy servers in other countries using false credentials and IP Addresses.

The Internet is not like a country that can be policed. It's just a sea of data shared by countries that don't even have a set of international laws that they agree on.

Data, good or bad, is backed up on offline storage, ready to pop up in seconds elsewhere if need be. A bit less secure would be to store it in The Cloud, spread here and there across the Internet and that would be even harder to track. This is essentially why things can't be banned on the Internet. Things like a "super virus" that can selectively track and destroy data or some sort of aggressive software designed to damage a specific host's hardware belong in the realms of fantasy.

Re: Is it possible to ban...

Each time you see a child raped and killed the perpetrator has always done something to a child before and done time for it, why let them out in the first place, as soon as there’s enough evidence that they have violated a child, that’s should be it, life inside, whole life, our children are far too important and not enough is being done to protect them, if I had my way it would be a death sentence.

Re: Is it possible to ban...

The majority of pedophiles and child molesters are never brought to justice.
There simply is not enough Police and man power to do this as much is done in secret and it goes on in families too, and it is condoned by stupid mothers who are reluctant to lose their evil husbands/partners.
And there are some female predators as well
Pedophiles think it is a game and children like it!
What child would like to be touched by an unsavoury character?
Only one who was unhappy and ignored at home
A well brought up child would nor crave affection outside the home.

Alas, many official people in authority have the same desires and that's why sentences are too are far too lenient
Then of course they can go off to Thailand and other Countries where it seems to be normal.

Sadly a spell in jail does a not change their behavior.desire or fantasies

A drug Medroxyprogesterone can help if done with psychotherapy, if a cure is desired.

Re: Is it possible to ban...

Hi

We have finite resources to police the Internet, both available and the Dark Net.

Our focus is on Terrorism, which is where our Resources go.

We have the technology to control Child Abuse on the Dark Net.

We do not like paying the Taxes to fund that.

Our choice.

The funding for my Techies to find and control Terrorists was cut by 80% by Cameron and May.

Boris has not increased it.

Live with it.

Re: Is it possible to ban...

I do not think evil exists unless it is in the form of intelligent people collectively committing a heinous act. This is evil at its worst, and there is a frightening amount of it. Whether it is a sickness or not, pedophilia is something cannot tolerate and we become culpable if we don't continue to fight it. The only thing we can do is drive subhumans into a place in which they are too afraid to act. Lifetime sentences, hormonal castration...no second chances. My preferred form of punishment would involve handing the perpetrators over to the families to determine the sentence. Not civilized you say? There is nothing more uncivilized than societies that allow the weak to be victimized.

We have this forum on the open net, which according to some articles I've read, takes up just 10-15% of the currently available space. The rest is known as "The Dark Net". Unless you have the right browser you will not be able to access the dark net.

Re: Is it possible to ban...

I guess my lack of knowledge about the internet is much more vast than I thought. Heck, until this thread, I never even heard of the dark net.

Rather like Pandora's Box. Evil has been released and there is nothing we can do about it.
