This is the EU in the year 2020.

‘Now I have seen it all!

Not only are the French escorting the illegal’s sail over the Channel into British waters, but the EU have now publicly declared they will blackmail us by not allowing us to return them from whence they came unless we capitulate over fishing rights.
(Daily Telegraph 3rd June 2020)

So, the French (typical), but astoundingly, the EU, the so upright organisation, are happy to be complicit in people smuggling and slavery, even though they are being paid millions by us to stop this happening.

What excuse are you going to come up with for such despicable actions in this present day, Solasch?

The EU aren't bothered about hiding their corruption anymore. There's no need to pay human traffickers to get people illegally to the UK when the French government is providing it as a free service.

Under international law of the United Nations everybody has the right to ask for asylum in the country of choice.
The EU has a protocol for processing those asking asylum in one of the memberstates (the dublin protocol). But as the UK no longer is a member.....

As for those asking asylum in the UK. In case it is not granted, you can return asylum seekers to their country of origin. Mind, that is not the country they left from to reach the UK!
If they refuse to tell where they came from (many have no papers), well, too bad. That is your problem.

Considering the UK is a founding member of the UN I gave up after your first paragraph.

The uk is the last stop for immigrants. The EU should abide by its own commitments. Its disgusting that they don't comply with the Dublin Agreement. Shame on them Shame on them

Asylum seekers my arse

Obviously being a founding member didn't grant you superior knowledge. And it shows.

Dublin protocol applies to EU members, which you are not. It doesn't infringe the rights of those seeking asylum.

If the authorities in the UK conclude they cannot grant asylum, well you are a sovereign country, isn't it?

Re: This is the EU in the year 2020.

Hi

The return them to the last country they came through is EU Law.

We are no longer in the EU, just in transition so from January 1st it no longer applies to the UK.

Under International Law they are ours and ours alone to deal with.

I have made this point many times.

We don't return them anyway, our choice not to, so nothing really will change and that is entirely our fault.

We do not pay the EU Millions to stop them crossing the Channel.

We pay France millions to have our Border Posts in France, this is not an EU agreement, it is one we have solely with France.

We stop a lot of illegals in France and give them back to the French.

Unfortunately we do not check every vehicle at Border Control on France, our decision not to, a cost saving, so many get through.

It is our Border and our job to police it, not the French or anyone elses job.

We are not doing it.

It is not the EU who are threatening us, it is the French.

France has the most to lose from fishing rights.

It is a huge political issue in France, particularly in the Channel Ports and Macron is protecting his own.

Take away our Fishing rights and I will move the Border back to the UK,

He can do this with 6 Months Notice and we cannot stop him.

We have two new huge Aircraft Carriers at a cost of £6 Billion, excluding planes, which are neither use nor ornament and are eating up so much of our Naval Budget we cannot afford enough Fisheries Protection Vessels or Coast Guard vessels.

This nothing at all to do with the EU, it is our own stupidity.

I am really looking forward to the end of this year, because our Politicians will have nowhere to hide and will no longer be able to blame the EU.

The matter of fishing rights need to be solved by the end of june, enabling the setting of quotas by december.

So if not, macron can give notice of the end of the deal on the border and returning migrants, by 1 july this year. Ending the arrangement on 31 december 2020.
Probably it will be more lucrative for english fishermen to transport and land immigrants to britain than to catch fish and not be able to land them.

These aren't asylum seekers they are illegal immigrants.

Asylum seekers must seek asylum in the first country they land in according to international laws. The Dublin Agreement ensures these refugees are finger printed in that country, the EU though is allowing them free movement to the UK and now not just breaching international laws but also breaching the Letouqet agreement which we have with France.

If I were you I would stop telling us about your superior intelligence over and over again. Nobody believes you.
