I rarely post on the Brexit forum now because we have left the EU , and I just thank god that we are not destined to become controlled by people who don't live here!
Exactly.

We had a fair referendum and those who felt strongly either way made sure they voted.

I'd hazard a guess that most of the whingeing remoaners are those who couldn't be bothered to vote and are now regretting it. They have no-one to blame but themselves.

BRINO
I think we have ended up with BRINO simply because Boris is naively trying to satisfy everyone.
Clearly, the concept of majority votes in a democracy has escaped him!

Perhaps the penny will drop in 2024.

It would have been better to colonise the 27 after the 2nd World War instead of letting them have their independence and democracies back.

At least the UK was finished in 1948, unlike the EU which hadn't even begun. Look at the mess the EU is in now, once again it will be the UK to the rescue, just like last time and the time before.

I would strongly oppose that.
Look what happened to us the last time.
Admittedly, we were fighting for our own survival then, but if we are sensible in future we should keep our noses out and let Europe fight its own battles.

Last time, Europe was overcome by a Nazi + Vichy France alliance. Next time, history could easily repeat itself and Europe would be conquered by a Franco-German alliance.

Both they and we would be nuclear armed! Any further aggression between them and us would risk escalation to a nuclear exchange which neither side would dream of risking.

For that reason, we should do what we had planned to do just before Christmas: pull out and leave them to their own devices, and have nothing more to do with them.

Having seen the activities of the EU/Franco-German alliance, the rest of the world would have to make up their own minds with whom to trade. Who would they trust?

A far-fetched scenario?

This is an excellent example of why I have taken to talking to myself. It means I don't have to take part in conversations that are full of tripe.

That's "repricocity", exporting vaccines made by an Anglo-Swedish company into the EU.
The BBC with their usual bias of course didn't tell anybody about where the vaccines were made.
I thought the vaccines had been made at the Halix factory in The Netherlands and sent to the Lazio bottling factory for bottling. They were being held there while waiting for QC testing. In any case, the EU hasn't even approved the Halix factory as a vaccine manufacturer YET! I understand the vaccines would have been sent to Belgium if/when they cleared QC testing.

In 2020 the EU initiated a poll with the request, "Please tell us your honest opinion about the lack of food in the rest of the world." The poll was a total failure.
The french did not understand "Please". The italians did not know the word "honest". The poles did not know what an "opinion" was. All the north europeans like the dutch did not know "lack", while the irish did not know "food". Finally, the british didn't know anything about the "rest of the world".
