FYI your link is from the middle of last year, well before the deal was arrived-at.
I'm pretty sure that those plans (and that's all they ever were) have changed quite a bit since then.

No fears donks. This is about the protocol that is part of the withdrawal agreement, not the trade agreement. The Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland is a fully legally operative solution that that avoids a hard border on the island of Ireland, protects the all-island economy and the Good Friday (Belfast) Agreement in all its dimensions, and safeguards the integrity of the Single Market. It is fully applicable since the end of the transition period on 31 december 2020..

But they are not.
Because the NI protocol is part of the withdrawal agreement. The deal the UK threatened to break in a restricted defined manner. Until president biden redirected clown boris.

The NI protocol is part of the TCA. The sea border is nothing to do with the EU it is an internal border in the UK.
