Not our problem. Moreover most of that lot if not all are just trying to protect their seat.

The usual ex PM's.

Sir John Major said it showed “the stamp of Little England, not Great Britain”.

Theresa May, " the UK had broken its promise to the world’s poor".

Don't recall the nation had any say in that promise.

David Cameron, whose government wrote the 0.7% pledge into law, said he was “sorry and saddened” by the Commons vote, adding: “I maintain that the cut to international development spending is a grave mistake. When we committed in 2013 to spend 0.7% of GNI on international development, the UK made a promise to care, to act, to lead.”

Throwing money at a perpetual problem never seems to make much difference.

All those above are very wealthy, let them show how much they care by donating money personally, action speaks louder than words after all.

Weak leaders who resigned when they failed.

Lead by example. Doubt it.

I believe we have only reduced our aid spending to be in line with
with the other nations that signed??
Somehow or other we added 0•2% to the amount requested ??
How did that happen?

Re: Foreign Aid Cut

Still throwing good money after bad in my opinion. There has been decades of foreign aid thrown at 'poor' countries with no tangible benefits.

Wasting money is ok when it's somebody else's.

The reality.

This budgeting choice was sold to the public as a sort of humanitarian action, a decision that Britain needed to “step up and meet its international obligations”, but this is not the case. The decision to provide foreign aid is, and has always been, a self-serving policy. Britain gives aid to Africa because it protects British interests in the region.

Well, what a big surprise!
I believe she's always been a fifth columnist masquerading as a Conservative MP.

Re: Foreign Aid Cut

Handouts aren't the way to help developing countries. Getting rid of trade barriers and having fairer trade policies is far better.

Leaving the EU has enabled the UK to do this. Giving countries money keeps them in poverty and dependent on other nations.
