It's for when kids are climbing bars and apparatus, they must always have three points (hands and feet) on the apparatus at all times, in other words only move one hand/foot at a time.
It was to prevent me getting done if any of them fell!

Aye, I remember our headmaster beat a boy to death in assembly for whistling in the corridor and when his mum and dad found out about it, they beat him to death too for showing the family up. The next day the headmaster had him expelled for not bringing in his homework.
Try telling that to the kids of today and they won't believe you.
