Re: Badger
My garden backs onto a nature reserve and I can clearly see a badger set in the woods behind my neighbour's garden.
Lovely creatures aren't they? NOT!!! There are people round here who have given up on a having a lawn in their gardens and what was a lawn now exists looking like a ploughed field.
For myself...........the flipping badgers squeeze through the tiniest of spaces, dig under fences - it's almost impossible to keep them out. They dig around for grubs and dig up my lawn to the point it's no longer a lawn. They appear to favour my garden over all the other gardens here. So...........the final solution: an electric fence!!! researched it as best as I could; discarded the "electric fence kits" which are far from complete; learned more about ohms than the guy in the local country store and finally bought a mains energiser from Amazon on which the first review was "I didn't know cats could jump that high"!!!
I've just returned from holiday and have positive proof the badgers have come into the garden.......but haven't touched the lawn because of the fence!! Success at last!
