NHS -v- TTIP

Oops!!!

Seems the rump pf the 'nasty party' are in trouble for not including a 'Bill' in the queen's speech about excluding the NHS from the TTIP.

And if we believe they either forgot to mention it or that it can't harm the NHS we really are the idiots they think we are.

Re: NHS -v- TTIP

this is why Obama wants us to stay in the EU because the TTIP deal will allow American health companies buy into the NHS, Once more the Tories dont care how the NHS is privatised so long as it is bit by bit

The Eu has refused to sign up to TTIP so far. Guess what will happen if we vote out and the Tories have the say on whether we sign away our rights or not? What do you think this alleged 'contract' is about? Remember Hunt's family own BUPA - the Private Health Care conglomerate.

If I get the gist of what you're saying, that if we leave the EU the Conservatives will sign up for TTIP, can you tell me how they can agree to a deal which is meant for the EU, if we are no longer in it.

Hopefully Obama is right and we will be last to be asked to do deals that's only way I have confidence we won't end up signed up.

Re: NHS -v- TTIP

As I understand it, the Swiss have a system whereby if their voters contribute over (I think) 50,000 signatures to a proposal it must be given a referendum.

What a wonderful idea if we could have such a thing. It would mean that the government could really be held to account. Not only a referendum on whether to accept TTIP, but perhaps even a referendum on whether Cameron and/or Hunt should lose their jobs.

That's too close to a real democracy for us, I don't think they would trust us.

Just as we can't trust them.

I believe that this country - certainly its government and its judiciary - are corrupt and self-serving to a much greater extent than it used to be.

Re: NHS -v- TTIP

Hi

I do not see what the issue is here.

To me it is an example of Democracy in action.

Our elected representatives keeping the Government under control, which is how it should be.

The NHS is a serious mess, sorting it out is vital.

Privatising it will only make it infinitely worse.
