If they had done nothing wrong there was no reason not to stop for the police & if they had done something wrong, they were stupid risking their lives to avoid punishment
I'll go along with that as well.

I know some who say that the police should never give chase as the risks are so great.

I am not one of those.

My view is this, you are not going to get away from a Police pursuit car driven by an expert.

It is stupid to try to do so and you put your life and that of others at risk.
As far as I'm concerned, if these idiots haven't got the sense they were born with and when they get themselves killed or injured, it is no-one's fault but their own and certainly not the fault of the police.

I wonder whether this is why our judiciary are so keen to hand down lenient sentences. "Don't drive dangerously lads, you're only going to get a slap on the wrist."

Not working, though, is it?

Chases have been converted to entertainment, of late.

That’s all I seem to watch on terrestrial TV, programmes like ‘Police Interceptors’, ‘Traffic Cops’ and similar. I do love a well deserved ‘come uppance’!

I have watched quite a lot of them. There is a certain 'feel good' sensation to them, I find.

Unfortunately, those on Channel 5 all seem to be repeats, although not advertised as such!

Re: Police Chases

So you have all seen the pregnant girlfriend, involved in a chase and idiotic wipe out ?
And all because her boyfriend went off the deep end.
Or the joy riding (big misnomer) teen, who's afraid of mum's disapproval................are they all due for natural selection ?

Have none of you never done anything dangerously illegal that could have resulted in you being painted with the same brush ?

Even riding pillion on your mates unlicensed motor bike ?

Well I haven't... perhaps that is why I have lived to this age.
Laws were created for the protection of all, and those who refuse to abide by them, deserve all they get!
If these men had killed somebody you care for, by driving so fast on the road, would you blame them or the police for the death of your friend? If you say "the Police", it just shows how unbalanced your thoughts are

Hi

I cannot speak for others, but I have.

I was also a very good poacher when I was a lad, kept the family fed.

The difference is we never put the lives of others at risk.

A flashing blue light meant you stopped, you did not scream off at 70 mph in a 30 limit with a complete disregard for the safety of others.

Re: Police Chases

It was their choice to run so I would say it was a good result, much rather them than, say, an innocent family walking along the pavement being destroyed by their recklessness...
