I think you have to look at all possibilities Mups, we really know very little about the planet we live on.
Watched a very interesting program on BBC4 last night in bed, 'Light and Dark' and the presenter said that 99% of the universe is hidden from us, that is an awful lot of universe we know absolutely nothing about, anything is possible in my view.
They showed a great video clip of light moving through a bottle, slowed down to so many nanoseconds... the actual speed of light, fascinating.
