Re: Sleep problems?

I buy the sleep aid tablets from either Sainsburys or Morrisons and they contain the valerian and hops. I've not tried pure valerian, with nothing else added, and sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. If all else fails I put in earplugs and because it blocks out a lot of noise it helps the mind to settle.

There are nights though when nothing helps and I toss n tuen for hours. If really stressed I take a prescribed sleeping tablet but not got many left.

Re: Sleep problems?

Well have been taking them for 3 nights, first night 6 really good quality sleep only got up to use the loo and went back to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, second night 8 hours straight through not even a loo visit ! third night 7 hours and woke up refreshed and less tired than I have in many moons.

So I can say they work for me. My niece is taking them too and has had 3 x 8 hours of decent quality sleep too so they work for her as well.

That's really good Julie. Glad you have found something to help you sleep, it gets the next day off to a good start doesn't it.

Yes..I went through a stage of not sleeping at night..and then falling into a deep sleep when I really should have thought about getting up..

I tried a few things..valerian..hop pillows...not eating before going to bed..but to tell you the truth, I was exhausted..

Two weeks later..I got made redundant from my job...I stopped worrying about not sleeping..If I got up in the middle of the night..who cares?...

Take dog a walk..read...watch telly..until I felt tired...

And stopping worrying about not sleeping helps...vicious circle..you stay awake because you are worried about not sleeping!...

Re: Sleep problems?

Oh, thanks for the report back, Julie. Will give them a go since that's 2 endorsements....although the last couple of nights I have slept really well but it won't last!
I'm talking myself into it, lilac. I think there is some truth in what you say, though.
