Dentist or a comedy programme?

I had a afternoon of laughter yesterday.
Had to go to the Dentist for a filling.
Nothing wrong with that. Saying that, it was a bottom tooth
and a new Dentist who seemed to put a whole needle of cocaine
or whatever it is in my gum which soon spread to the top lip as well.
I felt as though I had a FAT lip lol.
I couldn't feel a thing and when he said you are finished I managed to
wipe my tongue on what felt like my mouth and lips but they could have
been someone elses by that time laugh.

I went to Wilkos and when I was chatting with the till lady she looked
fascinated with my mouth. It was all over the place and I felt as though
my lips were back at the dentist and I had gone shopping without them.
When I got home I looked in the mirror and I looked worse than that poor
woman on the adverts that advertise a stroke victim. It took over 3 hours
to get my feeling partly back and when I ate my tea I had to be careful I
didn't get any meat to chew - the meat being my fat lip.
Couldn't stop laughing for hours thinking about it.
What's your experience of the dentist ?

First time i went for extractions i opted for a general anesthetic after hearing from my OH how bad it was he really put the wind up me .I went under and Didnt feel a thing, when i came round i felt i was on cloud nine , and everyone in the dentist was my best friend i was smiling and laughing at the receptionist as she made my next appointment. When my appointment came round i felt so embarrassed remembering what a fool i must have been .

Similar to me Eliza - I have ever only had one 'good' dentist.
He had to extract a wisdom tooth while I was awake, I didn't feel a thing which I thought was bloomin marvellous, I followed him around the room singing his praises
I hope he was 'honoured' and not embarrassed by my gratitude.
The rest are horror stories

I know how it feels Sandy whatever the stuff is it makes the lower half of your face stiff, like the fella with the cardboard jaw and the French accent Kenny Everett used to do. You did the best thing though, had a good laugh about it all.
