You were right Fender Bender I have checked on a chemistry site and they came back with your answer. They also said it was a weak alkaline but completely safe.

Well done! Good old Bicarb cleans most things in my kitchen and bathroom, tiled floors, etc. Its eco-friendly and cheap (in comparison to a cupboard of horrible chemicals in expensive bottles. For tough stains I use bicarb and vinegar, never tried the peroxide, but will take the good advice below if I ever do. Any before and after pics?

We had chemistry as a subject and yes, one of our students did blow a finger off with a mixture of weed killer and sugar.
