Victoria recorded 64 new cases today, down from 75 on Monday.

NSW and Queensland had no local contracted cases.

Queensland will open its borders on 10th July to all Australians except Victorians. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says visitors from Victoria will have to quarantine for 14 days at their expense even after her state's border closures are relaxed next month.

Victoria will reimpose stage three restrictions on 10 postcodes across Melbourne until at least July 29 in a bid to contain an "unacceptably high" number of new cases detected in the past few days.

From 11:59pm on Wednesday, residents in the following postcodes will be restricted from leaving the house except for essential purposes: 3012, 3021, 3032, 3038, 3042, 3046, 3047, 3055, 3060, 3064.

Premier Daniel Andrews also announced a judicial inquiry into the state's management of hotel quarantine after a number of cases through late May and early June were linked to infection control breaches.

Good question Bruce, last year at this time it would have sounded like something out of a science fiction movie....

Who would have thought that the whole world could have been affected like this in just a short space of time....
It sure shows how tenuous our grip of a comfortable and organised world really is.....

Two men, who both spent two weeks in hotel quarantine in Melbourne, have tested positive for coronavirus after returning home to New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

Australia now has over 8000 cases of Covid19 with over 800 cases still active.

New Zealand's health minister resigns

Showing how to behave honourably compared to the farcical behaviour of the UK's PM and his advisor.

David Clark, New Zealand's health minister, has resigned following a series of personal blunders during the coronavirus pandemic.

In April, he was stripped of some of his responsibilities after defying the country's strict lockdown measures.

He drove 19 kilometres to the beach to take a walk with his family as the government was asking people to make historic sacrifices by staying at home.

After enduring 20 years with only spineless PM's we're not going to let Boris or Douglas Carswell go that easily Bruce.....Good PM's and advisors are hard to find!
As long as he doesn't take the knee to the BLM mob he can do what he likes and I'll support him.

Yes I agree Donkeyman, we are becoming a world of 'Tell tales' and grassers. People should look at themselves before taking the high moral ground.

'Let he who casts the first stone be without sin'
Or words to that effect!....

Victoria's coronavirus case count has risen to 2,368, with 442 active cases now in the state after another 66 infections in the last 24 hours.

More than 10,000 people in Melbourne's coronavirus hotspots have declined to be tested during Victoria's testing blitz, with Health Minister Jenny Mikakos saying some of those residents believe the virus is a conspiracy.

The Victorian Government has been facing increased scrutiny over its handling of the hotel quarantine system.

Contractors working in the state-run quarantine program at two Melbourne hotels which are hosting returned travellers have been linked to more than 50 coronavirus cases.

Authorities have said security workers breached well-known infection control processes, and unconfirmed reports have emerged of the guards sleeping with guests and letting travellers out of their rooms.

(BTW In NSW quarantine security is provided by a combination of police, defence force personnel as well as some contractors.)

A $3 million judicial inquiry will examine how the virus was able to spread from the hotels into the community.
