Giving my lot a special Xmas Meal from WW2!

Yes, they're always complaining that I never cook anything "special" for them, so I'm going to prepare a good old WW2 meal on Christmas Eve.

Many of you might remember it.

Yes, it's that old super favourite TRIPE & ONIONS.

They won't want to complain again after a full bowl of that!

Do you have any special memories from those times?

Ha Ha!

Luckily I'll be playing that great Tammy Wynette song, in the background.

Corned beef wouldn't be quite so bad.

Yes, my mother used to say "make sure you eat it all - the poor people of Stalingrad would love to get some of this".

I thought of wrapping it up.....!

my dad used to buy tripe and elder every Saturday from the market. I can't believe my dad gave me some to eat, it was child abuse, think I'll take him to court

Why not dig a couple of trenches under the table and fill them with mud so they can dangle their feet in them?

I remember my Nan cooking that for Grandad when I was little.
It looked like a lump of huge white furry tongue on his plate as I remember.
I never tried it, and wouldn't want to. Agh.

I think there might have been some sort of white sauce on it, but too long ago to remember now.
