The only one's counted are ones who actually got off their bottoms and voted. That's how democracy works you have to vote to be counted.

Yes indeed.

I'm trying to think of a form of government where the electorate votes for the government it wants, but once having been elected that government - and its civil service - rules as it sees fit, even if that is not the will of the majority of the electorate.

I think that the nearest formal description of that sort of government might be a 'totalitarian democracy'.

In fact, over 23 million people did not vote to leave the EU,

I don't think we will leave.... truly I think there is no chance of it. The referendum will be ignored excuses will be made that it wasn't but we won't leave ... well not in the way the referendum meant us to.

I agree Summer, there are so many MPs who want to wriggle out of the commitment to leave it will be a miracle if we ever escape the clutches of the EU ....
