My Hosta shoots are just about visible now. Once they appear they will grow quite rapidly. Sometimes the new growth is difficult to see but if you run your hand gently over the soil you can feel the tough little points almost like teeth. All of mine are in large pots which are raised above the ground so slugs are never a problem.

Yes mine are just about showing too....I hope they are not eaten to death this year by the snails...I'm determined to win the battle this time around....little blighters

Mine are not visible but I just parted some of the grit and can feel a nice healthy shoot coming up. I'm happy now.

I also love Hostas,..for some reason I have very little snail/slug damage on them,I am also allowing my garden to grow wild for nature.

I love hostas and have plenty
