There's harsh light nearby but not on the bloom ... good conditions.

I don't mind at all Tiff.

The one in our garden is more fully open now and some of the outer petals aren't such a deep red as they were yesterday.

It was a bit cheeky, but mine had never bloomed before, even though the plant has been there for a long time. It only has one bloom on it too.

All too soon, the Peony becomes an ex-peony..



..but still, for crafting or other purposes, the fallen petals might make a good background for something or other..

Mine is scattered all over that area of the patio, it was very windy here a day or so ago.
