Technology changes us

It is odd how time and technology changes us.

Years ago when you were driving just about anywhere (except perhaps the Sydney/Canberra/Melbourne corridor) you knew when you were within about 5 or 10Km of a town because the dirt would stop and tarmac begin.

These days when you are nearing a town you know you are close when your mobile phone springs back into life. The more things change the more they stay the same.

BTW I could not get over the fact that my cousin, who lives in a village in Yorkshire, does NOT have a mobile phone signal - Malaysia and Thailand have better coverage than that.

I can't get a mobile phone signal in the village where I live here in Hungary. When I moved here in 2007, Internet hadn't arrived either and I had to wait until 2009 before the village finally got connected.

There are a few blind spots in Surrey my husband seeks them out I am sure, only way he gets a break from his boss
