More Computer Problems!
We've had a bit of a week this week with this Notebook being hit with loads of malware.I cleared 102 'objects' and had to reset my browser.
I did a complete clean-up and check of everything and was convinced I'd sorted it all - until Wednesday when my wife found that her Google Chrome was a fake and automatically blocked by Amazon when she tried to look at something online!
I found 4 more bits of Malware and deleted them and I checked here browser and rewrote in Google Chrome but it still wouldn't work.
In the end we had to ask youngest son and he cleared it all up online for us - from his office in Devon.
He knew what to look for and it took him 5 minutes linking through to us via a programme he uses for work - it's weird watching the arrow moves around when you're not doing anything!
Anyway, when I tried my wife's account again I found something he hadn't noticed: -
The browser was set to proxy server - the one he'd got rid of, so I had to uncheck the box so she could use Google again.
Luckily a quick Google on my account gave me the info I needed to do that.
All OK now - I hope!! stevmk2

What I can't understand is why these people do this kind of thing if it's just ordinary people - what's the fun in screwing-up someone else's PC / Laptop?!!! stevmk2
