They do! In 2016 the fraction of homegrown flowers was 2%. Country files made an item on it. You still imported 98%. But it is a good start, don't you think?

This means that after brexit a bouquet of flowers is 10% more expensive. I am certain that is no problem for you when you buy flowers for your loved one. But if it means that all products imported become more expensive? It is what farage is promising he will achieve for the british people.
Dont forget that anything uk buys from a non eu country has
to have an eu tariff applied to it, Solly, so that it cant compete
with eu goods!
Thus if we leave eu, that tariff will not apply, so this will
Cancel out the WTO we will have to apply?
Just another example of donkenomics Solly!

Re: Tory party - no hard BREXIT.

Hi

A No Deal means not only leaving the EU but also the vast majority of Free Trade Deals that we have the rest of the World.

They are in no rush to make new deals or even carry over existing deals we have as part of the EU.

This is the reality of the situation.

We have only managed to replicate 6% of the existing Trade Deals we have as part of the EU.

This is not due to EU Rules, it is due to our own incompetence.

Japan was completely scathing about our lack of preparedness when we went to negotiate with them.

We have got nowhere with replicating the EU Trade Deal with Japan, a bigger economy than ours.

Protectionism?

We, the UK, blocked the proposed EU/India, Free Trade Deal.

The fastest growing economy in the World.

It is now back on.

This is not a rant about the need to stay in the EU, it is not for me.

It is however a rant about the sheer incompetence of our Politicians.

We deserve better.

Our entire Political System has been outwitted by one man, Juncker, an elderly, misogynist, alcoholic.

I find this disgusting, we deserve much better.

Totaly agree with the above Swimmy!
Our problem as l see it, is not that we wont find anybody to
sell us things!
But that we have a lack of things to sell them!
This situation is due to government policies in the past
When uk decided to carry out a programme of capitalisation
and deindustrialisation?
We are now an importing nation and almost totally reliant
on our financial institutions!
However, as those institutions seem to be able to support us
at the moment, we should be able to kickstart our industries
again with new up to date products from scratch?

Re: Tory party - no hard BREXIT.

Free trade agreements are seldom beneficial to both parties. The only one I can think of that works well is NAFTA.

The EU - JAPAN FTA is an absolute horror for Japan, why they signed that I will never know.

I dont think you will ever grasp the simplicity of the
concept of donkenomics Solly! I think you are too steeped
in the unfathomable complexities of Solashakaviskyish
Euronomics to be able to adapt to the absolute efficiency
of Donkenomics?
However l will persevere with your education and hopefully
in time you can see the light?
