I don't think that would cure gout - or even help the pain.

The medication for gout is Colchicine on prescription.

Not necessarily as Ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory, can interact negatively with other medications being taken.

I take daily medication after having a heart attack some 12 years' ago. To take Ibuprofen with the medication already prescribed would actually negate the effects of one of those, causing me considerable heart problems.

It's surprising what does affect us and any existing medications so always check first with the GP or pharmacist before taking any medication, they have all the facts and can advise. This also includes herbal remedies as some have similar properties to prescribed and over-the-counter medications.

Hi Vaniy

It's caused by crystals forming in the joints.

The remedy is to buy a load of LIMES.

Squeeze the juice of a lime into a glass, top up with tonic water or just plain water and drink. The lime will desolve the crystals thereby removing the source of the problem rather than treating pain symptoms.

Do this daily until the condition is gone.

Then obv stay away from the things that cause gout. Red wine, port etc etc

Yes totally agree, one of my sisters has flare ups of Gout in her big toe, she was told to squeeze the juice from a Lime into a glass of water an drink. Do this daily, also she always has Colchicine Tablets on the house and she takes one at the first niggle and it usually stops the flair ups before they get going properly. One thing there is a side effect of these pills and that's the runs, a really bad dose. She found Ibuprofen is not strong enough and she also has a wee stock of Naproxen in the cupboard, but these can not be bought over the counter.
Even though she's not had a flare up for a good long while she still starts her day with the Lime/Water drink, she swears it keeps the condition away.

Re: Gout

Lime juice and other vitamin c loaded fruits and vegetables will help cure it.
Vitamin C helps break down the uric acid crystals
Cherries often work for most people too
If I had it I’d purchase chewable vitamin c capsules and pop them throughout the day until it cleared up and cut down drastically on meat, alcohol and soft drinks

Re: Gout

How can you tell it’s Gout as opposed to any other arthritic condition causing the knee problem ? Me wondering cos I’ve got a bad knee too but I don’t drink alcohol or eat red meat .
Why limes ? What is different between them and other fruits containing C ?

I don’t know for certain but my guess is that it’s a fruit that has the most citric acid in it with the least amount of fructose since fructose can make it worse. Using powdered citric acid in water would seem like a safer option
