Well said Twink!
Where were all these shadow cabinet exiteers when the referendum was being campaigned?
It would have been a good time to stand up and get noticed as a potential leader!
Tsk! Make 'em walk the plank!

Re: Labour-the fallout from the referendum.

Hi

Exactly right Twink, we live in a Democracy, the people have voted and voted out.

We elect our Politicians to do what we want, they just need to shut up and get on with the job.

Personally I do not want Britain to become great again.

I want the UK to look after it's own, make it a great place to live, I do not want us sticking our nose in to other things, it costs us a mint, money much better spent on looking after those who live here.

I do not want us to become a World Power, I would be much happier becoming more like Switzerland, a much better standard of living.

A place where those who can work work, those who genuinely cannot work well looked after.

A place where if you need Medical treatment, you get it, straight away.

A place where our kids get a good education without putting them in debt for years.

I want the abolition of Zero Hours Contracts, I want proper jobs and good pensions for those who have worked all their lives.

To me, everything else is secondary to looking after our own.

Yes - it's a shambles. JC may hold the correct views, he may be more in tune with the dispossessed and so on but is he competent enough (and that's a high bar to pass over in national politics) to win a short-notice general election against a Tory party led by (probably) Boris and with a 52% level of support for Brexit?

Re: Labour-the fallout from the referendum.

It is a difficult one. I voted for Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour Party leadership election primarily because he did oppose the EU. Now I have no faith in his spineless liberal leftism. On the other hand, it is pleasing to see the backs of the Blairites like Benn who would clearly be much happier in the Tory Party. Shame Dennis Skinner is too old and ill to stand!

I seems that the choice to vote him in was a big mistake...but not one they hadn't been warned about. If the Labour party are unable to choose the right leader what hope have they of running the country? Whilst all these changes are happening perhaps it is also time to change our voting methods. PR has been wanted by many for too long so maybe now is the time to introduce it...... especially if they want to prove they are listening to the people!
