Sadly that means they’re not taking your point seriously surely?
Not at all I've never had anyone do it twice. That's the result of them taking it seriously.

Most people appreciate a sense of humour in my world it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't taking things seriously. Humans are capable of nuanced thinking.

We have a ritual in church in which you shake hands with all members sitting nearby and wish them God's peace.

One of these days some man is going to hold some lady's hand a trifle too long with disastrous results.

They stopped that at our church after complaints it was too modern. I can't say I was sorry.

So you’re grouping all of these allegations together?
Hardly fair is it if a touch on the shoulder or a hug is taken as a serious offence ?
I shouldn’t wonder if behind your back your way of dealing with a non sexual gesture isn’t laughed at .

Ok I give up. We've talked endlessly about all this thread after thread if no one knows how I feel or anyone else feels by now there is no hope of explaining anything.

Re: Are Accusations going too far now?

I don't actually like people coming into my personal space and will step back to avoid it and I am not keen on being touched by strangers.

I think most people know where their own personal boundaries lay but some may be reluctant to say what that is to those in a senior position to themselves.

What we need to do is teach our families about boundaries, it is a conversation I have already had with my young grandchildren.

Re: Are Accusations going too far now?

Obviously my acquaintances are different to some peoples. Although I am not a touchy feely person, we hug and kiss each others' cheeks. I also love it when my adult six foot grandsons and partners give me a bear hug too. I'll even give my ex and his wife a hug too on the rare occasions we meet.

I truly believe that the tide has turned too far with all of these frivolous claims are being made.

As I’m a new member I don’t know anything about how you feel or anyone else feels?
