What makes a bigger impression?

If you were househunting, what would influence you more - the state of the garden or the state of the internal decor?

Neither are important to me. It would be the roof or the windows. The most expensive and not really DIY.

Kerbside appeal so probably the garden but neither is particularly important. The roof condition and the double glazing. The expensive items.

The garden specifically fencing, which needs to be Chihuahua proof. Quite expensive and hard work to install and can cause terrible problems between neighbours so a nice well established fence is most important to us.

Neither, you can change the decor and the garden but not the location and position so they are the most important to me .

We always look at structure, the rest is personal choice.

Ok, I guess I wasn't that clear in what I was asking. I agree that location and structure are key. But if I am looking at a house and the garden or decor are in a neglected state it makes me look for more faults because the implication is that the owner has not looked after things properly. It doesn't put me off the property, but probably to some extent changes the way in which I look at it. I'm wondering if others feel the same, and which in that context is more important to you.

Me too Meg, you can always do something about decor and garden but you are stuck with the location.

It's quite difficult to say really, but i would say the garden as we would like a large plot of land with out buildings..
If it was internal decor, you could easy change that to your preference and make it your own..
