Re: Double Pay

This sounds too good to be true .. and most things that do, invariably are.

Is it really a bonus freebie 13th month salary?
Or is it more a case of an annual salary based on set payments to make it easier for the employer.

A 4 week period ( rather than a calendar month) = 12 x 4 wks = 48, thus to cover the 4 short weeks a thirteenth month is added on.
Is it more accurate to say it's their own wages, deferred?

Don't get Bogged down with details, when it suits, some folks sell out, it's a fact of life, well, this life anyway.

Apologies, I must have misread that thanks.
Even their army is bigger than ours.

Yes I think that's most likely, original workers at my husbands company get that deal they phased it out for new comers but we enjoy that little extra. He also gets a bonus at Christmas of an extra weeks wages that really is unearned so a proper Christmas box.

Re: Double Pay

Hubby gets 13 payments each year but that is because they pay every four weeks.

At Christmas he gets a bonus of £5 to be spent in the store. But hey its an extra five pounds don't knock it.

Re: Double Pay

I think most Australians get paid fortnightly so we get 26 pay days a year. Double time is reserved for overtime and Sunday work (with double time and a half on Public Holidays)
