We've just been earthquaked!

We had a fairly loud rumble about 8 p.m., followed by two not so loud, but a few minutes ago we had one that sounded like an explosion right outside. It certainly made us jump. I hope there won't be any more.

Makes a change when you say the earth moved for me.

When we were in the West Midlands there was a minor tremor . Really weird seeing the ground move like that, you can't really take it in and gives a funny sensation , just doesn't seem right trying to apprehend what one assumes to be unmoveable

Ooh clumsy, I bet it did make you jump, it would me as well.

It's certainly strange, sort of like standing in a bowl of jelly.

Thank you Mups. We do get these quakes from time to time sometimes it sounds like a train going under the house, but the last one tonight was really loud, it just sounded like an explosion, really odd, no rattling and shaking of anything indoors.

Clumsy, l’m not sure where you are in Spain but my sister lives near Antequera.
I texted her but she didn’t hear anything!

A few years ago there was an earthquake on England's east coast at around one in the morning. I'm situated near the top of the Pennines in Yorkshire and felt it there. The whole house shook and made a kind of `wumph!` sound. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and a big shiver went down my spine - a very strange sensation.
