Regrets

Reading responses to another thread I was wondering, does anyone have any regrets.
This might be personal, too personal but it could also be something you wish you had done?

I'll start, I have only a few and one is not ever being able to fly a plane!! Cost!

Re: Regrets

Oh yes! quite a few but the main one is that over 20yrs ago I had a little windfall that would've enabled me to go home and see my Mam, Dad, brother and I spent the money on a new car instead, at the time it was what I wanted to do but since then my family have passed away and I often think about that time, not that it would have made a lot of difference as it would only have been a holiday but I still think of it

Re: Regrets

I don't think regrets are helpful so try not to have any. We all make decisions at the time that are right for us IMO no good revisiting them years later with hindsight.

Re: Regrets

I wish Evangelical Christianity hadn't been part of my childhood, but it was, and I just have to deal with the unpleasantness of that particular dogma.

Sometimes, it is in hindsight that we regret however when you made that decision, you probably didn't know that you would not get to see them or even when they would die.

Sometimes we have little choice (choice also being debateable) however if regrets are understood they are not accompanied by recriminations.

Reflection is learning.

I wish I had been given a better education when I was younger.

Re: Regrets

Absolutely tons of them and if I had my time again, I'd do pretty much everything differently. If I had that time again, I would live my life for me and not so much for others; selfish I know but I no longer believe the life lessons I was taught.
