'Your connection to this site is not secure'

Hello each and everyone.....Can someone direct me what settings for Google Chrome I should be allowing/not allowing as regards logging in to OFF?

I had to have my lappie re-set due to problems - ('Critical Process Died' and stuck in a continual loop of restarting).
Thankfully I didn't lose any files on the computer, but after the re-set and them re-downloading Google Chrome, Malwarebytes and Avast etc, when I registered last night it was showing OFF as being an 'insecure site', with the i in the circle.

I had a similar problem before after a virus was cleared and I think it was something to do with cookies not being allowed?

So, what should I be allowing/or not allowing? My present settings on Google Chrome are:

All these are Switched off:
Automatically send some system info and page content to Google to detect dangerous apps and sites
Automatically send usage stats and reports to Google
Send a 'Do Not Track' request with your browsing traffic
Don't know what 'Manage Certificate's is, and doesn't have either on or off.

..........

Under 'Content Settings':

Cookies: Allow sites to save and read cookie data (On)
Keep local data only until you quite your browser (Off)
Block 3rd party cookies (Off)
JavaScript (On)
Popups (Blocked)
.....
Not sure if you need any more info.

I get the same message and I use an iMac and Firefox. I don't think it's to do with your settings and I'd like to know the reason for it too.

From the Web.

'Websites use SSL (secure socket layer) to keep any information you enter on their pages private and secure. If you see the SSL error Net::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID in Chrome, your Internet connection or your computer is stopping Chrome from loading the page securely. Learn about Google Chrome's security settings
"Your connection is not private"
If you see the error "Your connection is not private" in Chrome, try the following tips:
On a computer
If you are using Windows XP 32-bit, make sure you have Service Pack 3 installed.'

Re: 'Your connection to this site is not secure'

You can presume it is because the site doesn't use a https: sign on

http://www.over50sforum.com/

See? it is only http (no security encoding)

Compare that to your (never to be mentioned) Facebook sign on or even wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/

Your browser picks it up and gets nervous. (Firefox is the same)

That's odd

I use an iPad (Safari) and an iMac (Firefox) and have never had that message.

I don't see it on my iPad (Safari). Maybe it's because on the iMac (Firefox) l have installed Sophos antivirus and Trusteer for my banking. I'm sure Bruce is right about the http ( no security coding) for this site.

I wish there was a thanks button on here

Bruce re the above, I know about the http and https, (yay! something I do know )... but I don't get the http or https, just:

www.over50sforum.com with i in a circle where the http/s should be.

I'm sure it wasn't like that before

That's exactly the same as I get, Pesta.

Right at the top of the page on the left, mine has the (i) and the words "Your connection to this site is not secure."

Where's Azz when we need him? He will know what this means, I bet.
