An eventful night

Mrs p heard a bang in the early hours, ( 1.45) , thinking something had fallen over, she went to investigate, only to find our sons girlfriend collapsed on the bathroom floor, she had apparently fainted, she also said her stomach ached, so we ( or rather mrs p) rang 101, and, the very helpful chap at the other end, determined that it would be best to take her to hospital, ( after asking a series of questions and speaking to a nurse) , I , however couldn’t go as I was on call this weekend, and had a job to go to,, so my wife, and son took her to A&E, , they arrived at 2.45, she was only seen by a doctor at 8.30 this morning, they’ve only just got home at 10.45, she’s fine, doctor thinks she’s got an infection in her pancreas, so she’s on antibiotics, and they’ve all gone to catch up on some well deserved rest...

Saturday nights are a no-go at our hospital Primus, it resembles a scene from world war three....Eyes, teeth and knuckles and most of them can't feel a thing after consuming several pints of anaesthetic.....

If you do dare to venture into the A&E it's best to take plenty of coins for the coffee machine and either a good book or a sleeping bag, whichever comes first...The doctor will see you now!...

Hope the patient is doing well....

Re: An eventful night

Thanks both, yes she feels a lot better, although she’s gone back to bed as she’s very tired, yes I agree, about A&E, normally no go areas on Friday and Saturday nights, but they said it wasn’t like that , just full of sick people...obviously...

Re: An eventful night

Exactly the same thing happened to Mrs LD about fifteen years ago, collapsed in the bathroom and hit her head on the toilet pan which produced a nice cut to the forehead. It turned out she had a 'stone' similar to a kidney stone which had passed into her pancreas causing a slight tear in the lining. she recovered fully but has always been checked for diabetes since as it can cause similar symptoms.

Just something to keep in mind Primus.

Glad she is feeling better now.

Re: An eventful night

Sorry to hear primus, how rotten having to wait that length of time, it's bad enough when feeling ok but with feeling ill the hours must have felt much longer.

Glad she's on mend and they going out what was wrong. She is doing the right thing by resting
