Chucky Egg Failure !
If you are “too busy, or too stupid” to get the perfect yolk, a pre-cooked soft-boiled egg which only needs boiling water added is about to hit supermarket shelves.For someone who is "too stupid" to boil an egg a lifetime of chucky egg failure is finally coming to an end.

Oh I like this idea, I like a runny yolk and my husband just cannot get them just right, with this he couldn't fail. Don't think he is too stupid though that is a bit harsh he just tries to do too many things at once.

Ina Garten - the American chef on the Food Channel (Barefoot Contessa) teaches how to make a boiled egg. Place egg in saucepan of cold water & bring to the boil, remove from heat, lift egg from water and place in bowl of cold water with ice cubes until cool, lift out - Egg will be cooked and yolk will still be soft and runny.15-07-2013, 02:27 PM

I have shelves of books, videos, umpteen gadgets, notes, and whatever else you care to name that have been bought for me by well meaning "I will teach you how to boil an egg" friends.
and if my life depended on it I still cannot boil an egg. Water Yes but not the egg. Eggs don't behave

The trouble is boiling an egg isn't an exact science - size of egg, temperature of said egg, and how many in the pan all make a difference to how long you need to cook them. Trial and error have taught me how many minutes for a small egg and a large egg but not a generic any egg !15-07-2013, 04:33 PM
