Right, I've just made the above cake.

I took Audrey's tip of a cup = 8oz. It's a bloomin' big mug full, not a cup!!! - a half pint one. Used that as a measure for all the ingredients. Not easy measuring the butter (I used Stork marg) into it, but sort of judged it!!

Had to google what all purpose flour is. Its plain flour.

I used the all in one method and threw all the main cake ingredients into the bowl and beat them altogether. Looked too stiff until I added in the milk! I added a few walnut pieces with the apples too.

Looked OK when it went in the oven. Will keep you posted as to how it turns out!

We were told in one post that a US cup = 8 ounces
then in another post that it = 125g

my quick calculation i'd said 8 ounces = approx 225g,

hmm been back to look and that is nearer the butter 'cup'
