Anyone Slipped on the Ice Yet?

And hit the ground. (If you have any ice where you are.)

Keep us posted on this thread.

Re: Anyone Slipped on the Ice Yet?

Reporting back, would be difficult if you have broken your wrist or arm!

I have to feed my hens every day. In the past, l have slipped on the ice, so these days l stick to walking on the grass or very gingerly on the patio or drive.
So far, l am very lucky that l have never suffered any broken bones in my life.

It's icy on the pathways around here. We walk carefully. And the dog doesn't try to pull me along No lead..

Re: Anyone Slipped on the Ice Yet?

I've slipped many times this last few days but not fallen over...yet.

The dog's a pain when it's icy, I try to walk on the grass as much as possible and will admit to giving her shorter walks when it's slippery.

Dreading tomorrow.....

Hi

No, I have not ventured out of the house.

We have no snow, but do have sheet ice.

Re: Anyone Slipped on the Ice Yet?

I was supposed to go out with a friend Wednesday, but as neither of us are good with icy paths, we decided not to go. It did get warmer later but by then too late to go. We'll try again next week.

I think, the shock you sustain after a fall is sometimes worse than the injury.

I take it you've never broken a bone!

I've broken a wrist and a hip, not at the same time thank goodness.

The wrist took two months to heal, and the hip took six months and two days.

I know that because after they'd operated and mended my hip with three ruddy great screws (don't be fooled when they call them pins!) I asked the surgeon when I'd be back to normal expecting him to say six weeks...
He said, "Minimum six months, maximum two years".
I said, "TWO YEARS??!! Boody hell!!"
He and his students laughed...he said it was up to me and how hard I was prepared to work...
I told him, "I'll see you in six months!"

So that's why I didn't go on my walk this morning, not because of the cold, it was a beautiful sunny morning, but I have no wish to slip and get a matching pair of wrists or hips!

Re: Anyone Slipped on the Ice Yet?

No thank goodness

The yard at work is treacherous , luckily the wellies help with grip. But then changing to go home, its a bit dodgy for sure. Worse in the mornings with it being pitch black

I did help an older woman across the road in town yesterday. She was going to turn back when she realised the lowered curb was sheet ice, but the other side of the road where she needed to be was clear, so I walked her over, went around M&S with her and walked her back to her door
