Doing Without

I asked this question on another forum once, and there was some rather surprising answers.

The question is, name two appliances you could happily do without, and I don't mean stuff you don't normally use.

Mine are:

Mobile phone
Television

Also, what could you not do without:

Computer
Washing machine

Re: Doing Without

I accidentally switched on the socket that my TV is plugged into tonight, then switched it off straight away. There was a loud POP, so it looks like my telly is busted anyway.

I've not watched it since last Christmas, so I don't think I'll be missing it, and I got rid of my mobile phone 12 months ago.

Re: Doing Without

I could do without the TV.. I have no idea how to use this one, or even which ooffer dooffer turns it on.

The other one is the microwave, i use it for making scrambled eggs more than anything else.. and that can easily be done in a pan.

I couldnt do without my bread maker...use it at least 3 times a week.
My other appliance i could not live without is my hair straighteners... OMG back to being curly .. I dont think so ! lol

Re: Doing Without

Whatever TV programmes I enjoy watching, I watch on Catch-Up on my computer. Still got to have a TV licence though.

Re: Doing Without

I'd lose the TV and cell phone.

Must have computer and electric frying pan or toaster oven (cannot choose between them)

Re: Doing Without

As we dont have a microwave, mobile phone and dishwasher(apart from she who must be obeyed) then The TV comes first quickly followed by DVD player and CD players and a host of other electronic gadgets that I have stored away.

A must have are the radio and computer.

Re: Doing Without

I gave up Sky TV a few months ago. Nothing but endless repeats.. And I save myself £57.00 per month now.
