To protect yourself you need an FFP3 mask.
If everyone around you has a face covering won't an FFP2 work? I'm not at all happy about this proposed reduction of the 2 metre rule.

I can understand it being relaxed when you are receiving a specific service such as a haircut or dental work, but in other circumstances they should keep it to two metres. Most people find it hard enough to maintain that. If they reduce it then everyone should have to wear a face covering in public places. It's like in New York where the message from Cuomo is loud and clear that a face covering is there to protect others from your germs.

Of course. Then do what I do: keep away from other people...

except for Marge, of course.

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Victoria will bring back tougher coronavirus restrictions, limiting gatherings in homes to five people from Monday, in a bid to address a recent increase in case numbers.

Premier Daniel Andrews said Saturday's case numbers were the highest they had been in two months, with 25 new cases identified overnight.

Of those, just one was a returned traveller in hotel quarantine, while 14 were linked to existing outbreaks, six were discovered in routine testing and four are under investigation.

It comes as the AFL confirmed Essendon player Conor McKenna tested positive for coronavirus on Friday night, forcing the postponement of the Bombers' game against Melbourne on Sunday.

Victoria in deep sh!t

Victoria has recorded 19 new coronavirus cases overnight, the fifth day in a row of double-digit increases, prompting the Government to extend the state of emergency for a further four weeks.

It includes three new cases linked to an outbreak among contractors working at the Stamford Plaza Hotel, where returned international travellers have been quarantined, bringing the total number of cases in that cluster to 13.

There was also four new cases of travellers in hotel quarantine, three detected in routine testing and eight cases under investigation.

While the rest of Australia has all but eradicated the Covid virus the VICs are going backwards. What is going on Bruce? Andrews erred in easing lockdown too soon in my view.

Dont forget Brazil which is now having a greater daily death toll than the US. It has had four consecutive days of plus 1000 deaths and has recorded 1mill infections.

Again this is comparing using a different underlying assumption. We now have far more sophisticated treatments and understanding of virology. The timeline so far is three months.

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Thailand is emerging as another success story in the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is all the more remarkable considering the country was the first outside of China to detect a case of COVID-19 back in January.

At the time, there was intense speculation the virus could ravage South-East Asia.

But Thailand — along with Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam — have all had low case numbers despite sharing porous borders with China and being densely populated.

It seems that these country's experience handling other Corona virus' (viri?) such as SARS and MERS has given them considerable expertise to handle Covid19 very successfully.
