Winter Fuel Allowance

We received our Notification of this year's Winter Fuel Allowance this morning.... no change. It will be paid into the bank within the next three weeks.

Every little helps!

Re: Winter Fuel Allowance

I was hoping to get it but am still unsure of the eligibility. I always thought it was given to those of State Pension age, at which I now am. But I am also led to believe the person had to be born a certain date to qualify.

Pah! Foiled again.

You should get it Jazzi. My wife got her notification today. Mine usually follows a couple of weeks later.

Good Jazzi. I lost out on the first two years because I did not apply for it because I thought I did not qualify until I was 65.

I'll keep a look out for mine. I've just ordered a top-up of oil - I recon that's about £280, so less £200 - not bad for 8 months.

Do you have to be on pension credit or not?
