That doesn't make sense a driver would feel the drag of pushing a weight unless they were asleep of course...

Re: How did lorry driver not realize

Strangely enough, this is the second time I have heard/seen this happen.
The lorry reckoned the car was below his windscreen vision - which is probably true - but as Meg said, I would have thought he would have either felt it, or heard the sound of the car scraping along the tarmac.

I wonder why the car occupant didn't keep hand on the car hooter and made as much noise as possible - or did he?

Was the lorry driver on his phone or something I wonder?

I would love to know how it got into that position in the first place.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the lorry driver was on his phone.
They often are.

That's what I said too, JBR.
Makes you wonder don't it.

Or he could have been fiddling about with anything, his dockets, his sandwich . . . anything.
But as Dongle also said, how on earth did the car get in that position in the first place? The only way I can guess is, the car driver came down a slip road to join motorway and got hit side-on.

As always, there will be a lot we don't know yet.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI was driven by Jack Joy from Car Throttle, the car review channel on YouTube.

A colleague said "Jack was minding his own business in the slow lane ans the lorry driver failed to look properly when changing lanes, jack-knifing Jack's GTi and pushing him 0.5 miles down the road. Jack is shaken but OK."
That's one side of the story, and it may be true, but a GTI, driven by a car reviewer, in the slow lane .....

I misunderstood. I thought it was on a motorway, that is why I said about maybe the car was coming down the slip road.
This was not the case at all then. Apologies.

AFAIK, parts of the A40, inside London, are motorway standard but most is not, until it joins up with the M40, outside London.

So maybe there are slip roads .....
