We are too far south I'm afraid. Shame, because I'd love to have seen it too.
We once saw something like it, many years ago. It never made the news though.

"Hello,Police?...there's a huge fiery asteroid heading for Earth!"

"I'm sorry sir,we have no-one available at the moment"

"But when it crashes it will kill millions!"

"You need our 'Asteroid Awareness Group' sir, they are trained by Health & Safety for these occurrences"

"Well send them then!!!"

"I'm sorry sir, he's on holiday this week!...Would you like an incident number?"

Re: Did You See The Meteor witnessed across Britain?

Although I missed the Meteor the other night, I did in fact see a strange object in the sky about a year ago. I was working late in the back garden shed and at 9.30, when I was locking the shed door for the night, a sudden flash caused me to look up to the sky, right above my neighbours roof was a ball of round orange light the size of a beach ball, it stayed there turning round and round slowly. I dashed into the kitchen to tell the Wife, that was a mistake, she broke into a fit of laughter and said I was losing the little bit of sense I had left. Needless to say, when she finally poked her neck out the window the object was gone, why does that always happen?. I'm saying this so you will be warned, if you see a strange object in the sky, keep it to yourself because nobody will believe you, I learned the hard way. Still I know I saw it and that's good enough for me.

Yes Jemflux, I think I'd be keeping it to myself too lol. I'd not want to be branded the Village Nutter. But I'd know and that's all that would matter.
