That suggests that the drug companies are trying to rip off the NHS!

If they sell at a reduced price to pharmacies, then they should sell for the same price (if not less) to the NHS.

Alternatively, why doesn't the NHS buy directly from the pharmacies?

Something sounds a bit strange here.

If Boris lets us all get back to near-normal after 19th July, does that mean all our GP's will have to come out of hiding too?
Wonder what their excuse will be then?

I don't get it. How can they be struggling when they are not seeing their patients? At least ours are not, it a useless phone call, IF you can get one.

As I have said several times, it's a good job the hospital doctors aren't hiding too!

To me, it shows how little faith they have in their own vaccinations too!

I haven't been too good recently, and tried to book a call-back. Could I? Could I 'eck!
In the end, the receptionist told me I could one in advance but the first available one was 7 days away. I reluctantly booked it.
On the morning of my supposed call, (last Friday), I got a text message come early morning, saying the doctor who was going to call me wasn't well, so could I ring them and re-book another call back!

Why the hell didn't they just get someone else to call me instead, there about 8 or 9 of them there, not just that one.

It is their own fault entirely that patients lose their rag with them, especially as they are already worried and feeling poorly.
Mups...I really hope your GP managed to see a GP when he was ill...

Haha, that's a thought!
Bet they didn't tell him to ring back in a week.

You know I always wonder who these timewasters are . We don’t want to go to the doctors if at all possible and all the people I know I like that too. I don’t know anyone who goes just for the sake of it .
it’s bad enough just trying to get through on the telephone .
So many GPS only work three day weeks anyway they don’t need to work full time as they are so well paid .
Once this situation is over should bring evening surgeries and make life generally easier for patients .
It’s bad enough being ill without the stress of actually trying to see a medic .
Timewasters people who turn up for an appointment 45 minutes late and still expect to see the doctor, totally oblivious to the queue behind them standing in the rain, while arguing with receptionist over the intercom because they are refused entry. After 15 minutes they wandered off but hanging around like they would try again.

The e-consult form is here to stay. It saves the doctors a lot of time and prevents time wasters getting an appointment.

Not very nice for the people who are not timewasters though is it?
What is an e —consult form ?
I’m not one for going to see my GP but I want to know how to go about getting on the waiting lists for a cataract removal ,something my optician has just discovered and advises me it needs seeing to .

Re: They don't care anymore...

Whilst the situation is not great for many, not being able to get adequate service from their GP, just be thankful you have a GP. The 5 NHS GP surgeries that serve the area I live in got closed down by the council due to extremely poor service. The private company that ran them on behalf of the NHS was warned last year to improve, they didn't so the council came in and shut them down, saying the GP's were putting patients lives at risk. The 5 GP surgeries are in special measures and are currently being run by a temporary replacement company until something permanent can be put in place.

Thousands upon thousands of residents can't even get to call into their GP because no one is answering the phones. Residents are turning up at A&E meaning our hospital is unable to cope with the amount of people needing medical help.

Many parts of Kent is in a huge mess right now. The place should be avoided.

Available on your GP practice website, presuming of course that everyone has access to a computer/internet. You fill in your details and why you are contacting them and this will be triaged at some point and a response given accordingly. It doesn’t always work. When I fell down the stairs I waited three days before phoning and was told a reply had been sent that very same evening. Of course I never did get it, hence my phone call, and was just advised what pain killers to get OTC.
