What's the Best Thing You Got out of a Cracker?

I mean a Christmas Cracker, as in one of those things you pull, at Christmas! (Bait laid!)

After all these years, I can't remember anything ever being used after the day.

There's a paper hat, a cheap plastic something, something that goes bang!

So, do you pay a lot of money for them?

Do you put them back in the box having recharged the explosive?

What do you think?

I once got a nail cutter that was very useful. It was better than the red thin cellophane ‘mood’ fish, l normally get!

Last years crackers, in one of them I got a travel game box and inside it was a Crib Set, the plastic board was on top and underneath was all the plastic pegs.

Wade Whimsies, small ceramic figures, 8 to collect & of course the box had 8 crackers, but there was no certainty you'd get all the set, so 2 boxes needed.
They still make them now, but they are no longer cheap to buy.
The pic is a box from a while ago that we have never opened.

The best thing I ever got out of a Christmas cracker were a decent quality nail trimmer and a tiny but reasonable quality adjustable spanner - ideal for all those Meccano-sized nuts and bolts jobs.

I have several tape measures that came from crackers, also a few nail trimmers. Both usable.

The mini packs of playing cards are far/too small to use.

A load of plastic toy kits such as little bears sitting in cars and dogs on motorbikes. They came in handy because I saved them and gave them to the kids who knocked on Halloween.
