Re: They don't care anymore...

Its a terrible situation all round, Carol and I really feel for you and Tony. One of our doctors is leaving the practice after only being there 5 months. I'm angry at the whole situation and it seems that if you throw money at them, they will deign to see you in person.

Re: They don't care anymore...

Anyone having problems with their GP should contact their CCG and take it up with them. My one is West Sussex CCG and they certainly helped me with a non cooperative GP and this is an extract from their mission statement:-

We are accountable to every patient and member of our local community in the West Sussex area. You can hold us to account and make sure that we are delivering the best possible health services for you and your family.

Each of our GP member practices are responsible for the decisions we make as a CCG. They have delegated their authority for these decisions to a number of groups who meet regularly.

Our main formal meeting is the Governing Body, which meets regularly in public to make decisions about local health services and ensures that we have arrangements in place to carry out our work effectively, efficiently, economically and in accordance with principles of good governance.

Useful to know that LongDriver, thanks. Perhaps a good way of getting dissatisfaction with an individual GP or practice properly noticed, one I hadn't thought of. I will be putting this to family members who are experiencing problems with getting correct and expected service in regard to
their health problems.

Having checked this further the links below may be useful, the first is how to find your Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). The second link gives information on what exactly CCGs are about
and what they do:

I know that there have been problems with Covid and doing everything to avoid spreading the disease, but if my dentist can now see patients face to face - literally face to face - I can see no reason why GPs can't do the same.

I think this has gone on for long enough now.

I totally agree Roxy, but we are never likely to know the true figures of disasters because of mis-diagnosis. I suspect it has been happening for a long time, but will be kept quiet.

As I have said several times, it's a good job the hospital doctors aren't hiding too!

To me, it shows how little faith they have in their own vaccinations too!

I haven't been too good recently, and tried to book a call-back. Could I? Could I 'eck!
In the end, the receptionist told me I could one in advance but the first available one was 7 days away. I reluctantly booked it.
On the morning of my supposed call, (last Friday), I got a text message come early morning, saying the doctor who was going to call me wasn't well, so could I ring them and re-book another call back!

Why the hell didn't they just get someone else to call me instead, there about 8 or 9 of them there, not just that one.

It is their own fault entirely that patients lose their rag with them, especially as they are already worried and feeling poorly.

JBR, I have said this several times.
The dentists are delving into our mouths as well, not sitting 6ft away with a mask on!

To me it says little for their faith in the vaccines they've been pushing all this time.

To add insult to injury - has anyone completed an e-consult only to receive a reply instructing them to buy a medicine from a chemist? What happened to our NHS?

Re: They don't care anymore...

I am so sorry that you have all this worry carol .ring 111 they may send out a paramedic .
Our surgery is pretty good not that I have seen a doctor for the last two years but Mr M has seen a specialist due to his heart condition .
You know I always wonder who these timewasters are . We don’t want to go to the doctors if at all possible and all the people I know I like that too. I don’t know anyone who goes just for the sake of it .
it’s bad enough just trying to get through on the telephone .
So many GPS only work three day weeks anyway they don’t need to work full time as they are so well paid .
Once this situation is over should bring evening surgeries and make life generally easier for patients .
It’s bad enough being ill without the stress of actually trying to see a medic .

I couldn't agree more. I hope everyone is aware that GP surgeries involved in vaccinations are doing so BECAUSE THEY ONLY DECIDED TO GET INVOLVED AFTER BEING TOLD THEY WOULD BE PAID FOR EVERY VACCINATED PATIENT!! So excuses on the basis that they're too busy because of the vaccination programme, are scarcely valid!

Some while back I did have one item withdrawn from my regular repeat prescription. That, so I was informed, was due to it being cheaper over the counter than the NHS can buy it for. My response to that was "then why is the NHS not using its massive buying power to get prices reduced?"

That product would never have been needed had I not had a heart attack and then been prescribed medication for life. The medication caused problems which were alleviated by using this product, a good quality skin cream. Nothing to do with anything like vanity, simply a change in me due to the medication. Since then I have had to pay for it myself.

There has been no refund of my NHS subscriptions paid (taken directly from my salary) over 55 years though!
