Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Your granddaughter is a little star Rhosyn. Rob has a shunt too, but thankfully it hasn't blocked in 22 years! Touch wood.

Jac, that sounds like George III (he was pretty loopy - but of German extraction, not coloured!) Timeline would fit with Bridgerton story too.

Grandson is here again and on the laptop doing maths. Glad it's not me, I don't understand a word of what she's saying.

Quite excited about my jab this evening......

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Had a soaking walking this morning.
Video call from my girls yesterday afternoon.Great granddaughter managed to give me a little smile. She looked so frail, looked like they had to shave more of her hair than usual but it'll soon grow back.
How was the vaccine experience Sue?Expect it was very well organised there.
Stay safe.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Morning Rhosyn and Jac. Hope your granddaughter continues to improve Rhosyn. It's amazing how children bounce back isn't it.

Well so far my arm hasn't dropped off! Son drove me to Bronllys Hospital. It was very well organised. Marshall with torch showed him where to park and asked what time my appt was. Waited about five minutes then someone with a torch (and much needed umbrella) came to escort me into the building. Sanitised hands, waited another couple of minutes then into a cubicle. Checked that I was Susan Farmer, any allergies? Then a swift jab and out the other side to sit down for a few minutes. Because I wasn't driving was allowed to go after five minutes. Out through a different door, sanitised hands and escorted back to car and home. Really well thought out and everyone was so cheerful even though it was getting towards the end of the day - and tipping down with rain.

Looks like a horrible dreary day out there - again - better go and make cake.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Sorry I missed that programme Jac. Never knew Queen Charlotte was of mixed race!

Wet and windy here too. Made a pot of lamb stew for the farmers this morning. DIL is at home today so no grandson here. They had a good day yesterday. Son took lambs to market and had a good price for them, and Jamie had his Mocks results, which were good. (His Mum said they would have been even better is he'd bothered to do some work)! He has an interview for Holme Lacy Agricultural College on Friday, so fingers crossed for that.

Just waiting for the bowls to start on TV - watching a programme about maths - to say it's going over my head is putting it mildly.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Lovely day today, after a wild night -- I even shut my bedroom window.
Gave the bathroom a good going over (could see the dust in the sunshine). Trying to dispose of old paperwork, but finding it difficult to make some decisions. Keep telling myself to get a grip...................

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Just back from driving to Hay and back to collect a prescription for Rob - only to discover that the Surgery had no trace of the supposed prescription. Grrr!

Was a lovely sunny morning but it's clouded over now - so looking forward to watching the bowls on BBC2.

Eldest grandson has his interview (via Zoom) for a place at Holme Lacey Agricultural College this afternoon. Fingers crossed.
