As the article says, when he was sentenced the law allowed for such an early release. Now the law has changed to prevent this. Having said this, I still do not agree with him being released this early. He should spend the rest of his very sad life looking over his shoulder and living in fear of someone with a shiv in his/her hand and willing to use it. One thing I am happy about is that he's got to serve at least an other 8yrs on probation.
