Re: Voice of the 'nasty party'

Well anyone who can honestly say they can afford to raise a child I would say, with deposits for houses around here approximately £70000 and rentals £1000 or more a month, sounds pretty rich to me when NMW is £6.50 an hour.

It's not hard to quote those figures. I could have done the same when I lived 'down the A3' from you in Hampshire, but yet people did afford houses there. It's equally easy (I would even say easier) to find places where you can buy a modest house for £100k or rent for £400 a month.

In contrast to the minimum wage, the average salary in the UK is currently around £27k pa. That must make the UK full of 'rich' people - NOT.
People with aspirations to better themselves on modest salaries are the ones being kicked hardest by this government.

Tell that to my neighbour who has again lost her benefit for 16 weeks - the people really hit are those being expected to live on £0 for months at a time or those who are having to pay because they have a spare room full of medical equipment.

Well for start you don't produce children if you can't afford them!..is that simple enough to understand?
When i married we worked for five years ..yes five years to save enough money for a deposit, children were just not on the agenda.
We saved enough because we didn't go on holidays, buy an expensive car, house hold goods or meals out.. we had a goal which unfortunately young people today don't have.
There are opportunities here if you are prepared to work for them. Why on earth do you think all these immigrants want to come here???? it's easy street and i would risk the same if i were one of them. Stop all the benefits for them and you would find the flow stopped.
It's about time hardworking people stopped having to pay tax to prop up immigrants and freeloaders. Where else in the world is it so easy to do nothing, produce children, and get paid for it?...Have we lost it completely?

Oh don't worry I understand all right but you haven't answered my question yet. I suggest money isn't what children need anyway they need decent parents and nothing about having money makes anyone more suited to having a child to care for than anyone with no money at all.
