I'm afraid not Mags. I fear my search may prove fruitless!

Re: Anyone heard of Merle & Roy?

Funnily enough, today I was sorting out stuff for the free ebay listing this weekend and I found a couple of LP Records from Merle and Roy. I have put them on for sale on ebay for the princely sum of 99p. They are signed by them as well. I met them in Bridlington around 27 years ago where they were doing a session in a store singing along to their records - on a sales promotion. They were very pleasant and friendly and I think that they came from South Wales. They never really made it big time but I think that they made a decent living on cruise ships and various other gigs along with instore promotions. Merle had an excellent voice and Roy did sing but he was mainly the keyboard player. I wonder if they are still around.

Re: Anyone heard of Merle & Roy?

Thank you very much for replying and giving me some information!

It is a shame indeed that they never "made it" as I enjoy their music greatly. It is the way with a lot of singers though, unfortunately.

What is your eBay username? I may take a look and see of I already have them or not.

Re: Anyone heard of Merle & Roy?

In response to the query, I have an audio tape of 'Merle and Roy with Requests' but I too found nothing about them on the internet except from the question on this Over50s site. Merle has a lovely voice and is accompanied by a great country and western backing. Her singing of 'The Crystal Chandelier' & 'Pal of My Cradle Days' are so moving that they bring a tear to the eyes. I'd be glad to know if they're still singing. I see their tape is produced by Roy Griffiths, so it's likely that Griffiths is their last name.

Blimey and you found this out from the other side of the World.
Well done indeed.

Welcome to OFF by the way, I won't say the mnemonic I use for it.
