Re: Ryanair, luggage

I hate Ryanair but sometimes there is no other choice, unless I want to travel further to a different airport. Here is a question......if the awful O`Leary doesn“t want luggage in the hold of his planes, what does he want in there?

Profit-generating cargo?

Although you have to take a lot of what he says with a pinch of salt because he often says things to generate publicity whether they are true or not.
Having said that, these charges have not just been announced. I looked online at least a couple of months ago and they were clearly stated then - like other travel companies, he's charging a premium for high season travel, only he is putting it on the bags.

Ania darlin' - didn't Michael O'Leary purchase Aer Lingus and isn't it now part of RyanAir???

Re: Ryanair, luggage

Apparently one sachet of sugar carried on an plane in the life of the plane for one year costs £6000 in fuel. So I can see why they are trying to cut down what they carry. Either profit or green depends which explanation you believe

No, UJ. He tried to but monopolies commission or similar blocked it. So thankfully Aer Lingus still treats its passengers rather better than Ryanscare (as some call it) and I don't have to endure constant tannoy hassling throughout my flight.

Perhaps they'll start weighing the passengers plus luggage, and charge so much per Kg
