Well, that's it, I'm off...

Yes, I know it has been a warm winter (19'C/66'F today) but it's August and the westerlies have started in the Illawarra so I am off to the sun for the rest of the month.

Malaysia and Thailand here I come. Only thing I have planned is a trip across the Thai/Malay border by train. I have crossed the border many times by car and travelled within each country by car and train but never in a train just want to see what happens (simple things and all that).

As for the rest of the time? Penang for sure (love Penang) a few days in Hat Yai, hire a van to go Nakkon Si Thummat (sp) and Krabi? who knows, the only thing for sure is that I will eat too much.


Flying out tomorrow. Ain't retirement wonderful? Wouldn't be dead for quids.

Here are some things I won't be visiting this time. It's a bit long & slow because it was done for my kids who asked me, "What exactly do you do there?" It is also a bit old and therefore definitely not HD but Malaysia has some lovely tropical scenery, marble quarries and great cool highlands.

Have a lovely time and say hello to Penang for me, I too like Penang very much, not too keen on their sharp sand beaches though, like walking on broken glass.
